Why Should the Grandkids Have all the Fun?

Join us for a demo of our fun virtual hubs and learn how we are encouraging seniors to get cracking with technology!

What's it all about?

Join us for a demo of our virtual hubs, and come and have a chin wag with us about how we are encouraging seniors to get cracking with technology!

Digital Seniors was born in early 2018 from a Masters research into the digital inclusion problem in New Zealand, understanding it from the perspective of seniors, general society, business and government. The Masters Paper showed that there were significant people missing out on utilising technology in the 65+ age group. They had significant issues of access, skills and trust. Also there were many who had not appreciated the potential of the technologies to impact positively on their lives.

Digital Seniors runs popular drop in learning hubs across the Wairarapa where seniors receive free one-on-one help with a volunteer coach, we are now preparing to expand into other regions across New Zealand.

Over lockdown we saw a real need for seniors to connect and have a laugh, so we piloted virtual hubs via Zoom.  These hubs proved to be a fantastic way to connect with seniors across Aotearoa, New Zealand.  Our online hubs are a space where seniors can  meet new people, play games, learn something new and to share their hobbies and interests with us and each other.

We are looking forward to sharing with you how we are using fun as a way to get seniors using and enjoying technology.
