Many businesses are suffering from the pain of legacy-to-digital transformation. While most businesses wish to move fast in their digital journey, there’s always a dinosaur or a similar ancient thing lives in the old data centre that constraining the business’s ability to become a digital-first organisation.
Some of those dinosaurs or legacy systems are still playing an important role in the organisation today. Establishing a great system connectivity, opening up access to appropriate teams, connecting the data points and making then available and accessible then become the #1 priority.
System modernisation is always an interesting topic especially when it meets with Data and Cloud technologies. In this talk we’ll introduce a data first approach that tackles this problem from a different angle, by establishing an experience data platform – an always-on data platform with a unified interface to access data that is being generated in different parts of the business in real-time. We’ll look into the benefits of adopting this platform, how it’s different from other system modernisation approaches and follow with some in-depth discussions on the design of the platform and reference implementations.
