Smart cities use technology and the resulting insights to help makes cities better for people. It's an active part of city agendas in many cities in Asia, Europe and the US.
Both Australia and New Zealand cities have levels of smart city activity underway - but it's not yet a key city-wide strategic driver in most New Zealand cities.
This session will discuss some of the best smart cities activities happening in cities around the word, and what opportunities there are in New Zealand cities. We will also focus on some of the interesting practices underway in New Zealand's cities.
Contributing on the Monday session will be international smart cities expert and Serviceworks Group Managing Director Mark Thomas and Australia New Zealand Smart Cities Council NZ Director Jannat Maqbool.
On Wednesday, Mark and Jannat will be joined by Sean Audain, Wellington City Council's City Innovation Lead and Michael Healy, Christchurch City Council's Smart Cities Programme Manager.
You can drop into this event at any time.
