What's it all about?

Wood Engineering Technology (WET) Chief Operating Officer, Shaun Bosson, will be joined by Callaghan Innovation Advisor, Phil Anderson in a Q&A event to discuss the implementation of Industry 4.0 in New Zealand’s most innovative wood engineering space.

WET have pioneered a design and process for turning low value weak wood into high value structural strength lumber. Their revolutionary product, Optimised Engineered Lumber (OEL™) presents a global opportunity for its technology and is ideal for building houses as well as for use in medium, high density and commercial building applications.

Shaun Bosson

CEO of Wood Engineering Technology (WET)

Shaun Bosson is the CEO of Wood Engineering Technology (WET) a technology business in the building sector. Shaun has been with WET 4 years and was responsible for the implementation of WET’s first advanced manufacturing facility. The fully automated plant is located in Gisborne and produces Optimised Engineered Lumber (OELTM), an innovative Glulam product.

Before joining WET, Shaun worked in several executive operations & supply chain roles in the
multiple sectors in NZ, Europe and North America. Shaun is a passionate about manufacturing and supply chain excellence together with embracing new technology.

Shaun has degrees in engineering and business and has attended executive programs with both Stanford and Darden universities

Phil Anderson

Advisor, Callaghan Innovation

Phil Anderson is a Business Innovation Advisor from Callaghan Innovation, New Zealand’s Innovation Agency. Phil supports New Zealand manufacturing companies with Industry 4.0 technology implementation and development, and led a delegation of 20 NZ companies to an Industrial Transformation summit in Singapore last year. Phil was previously a shareholder and General Manager of Cleanflow Systems, an award winning technology company which designed and manufactured multi-sensor inspection systems for the waste-water industry. Cleanflow Systems was acquired by US company Redzone Robotics in 2011, with Phil leading the new NZ entity and the integration for three years.
