Sarah Nolet is an internationally recognized food systems innovation expert,
the CEO and Founder of AgThentic, a global food and agriculture strategy
firm, and a General Partner at Tenacious Ventures, Australia’s first
dedicated agrifood tech VC firm. Sarah has been instrumental in building the
early stage agtech ecosystem - from advising dozens of startups, designing
accelerator programs and consulting to established agribusinesses, to
helping industry, universities and government develop and implement
forward-looking initiatives in food system innovation.
Sarah is also the host of the AgTech...So What? podcast, and co-founder of
Farmers2Founders, a national innovation program that supports primary
producers to commercialize inventions and new businesses, as well as gain
early access to emerging technologies.
Sarah holds a Masters in System Design and Management from MIT, and a
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Human Factors Engineering from
Tufts University.
At NZTE Richard specialises in raising capital for later-stage high growth companies, with a focus on the region of Auckland, he has significant experience in strategy and capital raising. Richard is passionate about helping New Zealand companies succeed and grow on the world stage. Richard's background before NZTE includes as a Director at KPMG, where he was a member of KPMG's High Growth Ventures network as well as the Corporate Strategy team at IAG; he has also worked in investment and start-up roles in the United Kingdom and China.
Simon heads a team of NZTE Investment staff helping growth companies raise
capital to help them go global. In the last three years Simon and his team
have helped more than 150 companies successfully raise capital.
Simon's background has primarily been in F&B, but he has developed
a deep interest in technology and how transformative that sector is for the
New Zealand economy. Prior to joining the NZTE Investment team, Simon was a
corporate and commercial lawyer in Auckland and London. He was primarily
involved in early to mid-stage mergers and acquisitions and fund raising
transactions, as well as commercial and intellectual property matters.
Simon's areas of speciality include capital raising, mergers and
acquisitions, corporate structuring, business modelling and pitching. Simon
holds Law (LLB) and Commerce (B.Com) degrees from the University of
Canterbury, and is admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in New Zealand as
well as England and Wales.
