What's it all about?
There’s no question that COVID-19 has caused businesses to look more closely at how they do things digitally. But what is the overarching plan for the country’s digital future, and how does business need to adapt to take advantage of this moment in time?
Hear from Chair of Digital Council Aotearoa New Zealand (DCANZ) and of New Zealand Technology Industry Association (NZTech) Mitchell Pham, who works closely with Government, about what the association believes the plan should be and how it will support business.
IBM Managing Director Mike Smith will then give his take on what NZ needs to do to be a world leader in the digital space, followed by TapIn Ventures Principal Michael Whitehead, who will highlight what ‘going digital’ really means.

Speakers
Brett O'Riley
Brett O’Riley is the Chief Executive of the EMA, having commenced in that role in January 2019. He is a graduate of Victoria University of Wellington, with post graduate qualifications from MIT (Boston) and Singularity University (San Jose).
Mitchell is a Vietnamese-Kiwi business & social entrepreneur. He is the
co-founder, Director and Head of Sales & Marketing of the Augen Software
Group in New Zealand, as well as Chairman & Director of their operation
in Vietnam.
Mike Smith is Managing Director of IBM New Zealand. He began as MD in October 2016, joining from Spark Digital where he was General Manager of Cloud and Sourcing. He was responsible for leading the company’s data centers, cloud professional services and the Revera business.
Michael Whitehead
Michael Whitehead started as a tech, moved into sales, then founded analytic and big data company WhereScape. He is currently Principal of Tap-In Ventures, which aims to triple revenues, quadruple customers, and create new ideas and industries.
