See the value of giving back to the industry with this inside look into Summer of Tech's 'hackathon'-style Create Camp event!

What's it all about?

The Summer of Tech Talent Showcase is about showing off the next generation of tech talent. We have decided to give you an inside look into our annual Create Camp, a weekend long 'hackathon' style workshop, through video updates and livestreams. Thanks to our 2020 Create Camp sponsor ANZ, this year's theme is 'Customer, Community and Cloud'. The students, who will be from coding and design backgrounds, will be challenged to use any API or dataset to build something as a team.

Our Create Camp weekend video will give you the unique opportunity to see first hand how teams create ideas, troubleshoot and solve problems. We'll be following the highs and lows of the student teams as they work on their projects. These students are all looking for summer internships through the Summer of Tech programme, so are fantastic examples of the type of tech talent that's coming into the workforce. We will also be chatting to our industry mentors about what it means to give back to the industry. Then, at the end of the weekend, we will be live-streaming the teams' final presentations!

Create Camp Weekend Highlights

A video summary of the weekend, including interviews with the students about their team processes, ideas, issues and with their industry mentors.

Talent Showcase Presentations

This will be a live-stream of the Create Camp teams' final presentations. They will talk through their processes, what they came up with and how they did it, the purpose of their final project and then answer questions from the floor.
