Many Kiwis dream of working in visual effects and being part of the team that brings iconic stories to the screen—but what if you aren’t really focused on being an artist?
Weta Digital is fortunate to have some of the finest creative and technical minds working in film and television right here in Wellington, Aotearoa. This webinar will highlight the broad range of STEM skills that are the foundation of visual effects and might be your entry point for a career in the industry.
People are often surprised to learn an education in STEM can lead to a career in visual effects. Amber will give you a behind-the-scenes look at some of Weta Digital’s most well-known work and show you how we use technology to support our artists and produce better VFX. She provides insight to the many career pathways available and gives practical advice on how to forge your own trail—through your study choices, work experience, and personal development.
The presentation is followed by a moderated Q&A panel featuring Amber along with Recruitment Manager Tanya Buchanan.
We invite you to send your questions to us ahead of time and will endeavour to include insights and answers for you during the session. These can be emailed to marketing@wetafx.co.nz
