What's it all about?
Technovation New Zealand celebrates our second year competing in the global Technovation Challenge. Girls ages 10-18 from throughout communities in New Zealand have been working very hard over lockdown the past 3 months to identify a problem that they would like to solve in their community, create a plan to solve it and code an app that addresses the problem. We will hear from the 7 teams who have submitted their innovative concepts and apps and hear the pitches that they have submitted for the global competitiion from the teams themselves. There are 2 teams who have made it to the semifinals, we will have a Q&A with these teams as they walk us through their ideas and how their apps work. We will also hear from the mentors from Rocket Lab and EY who have worked with the teams to get their submissions across the line, as well as some of our corporate sponsors such as Jade Software on Design Thinking, 2Degrees Mobile on Coding, and a special guest speaker who will discuss the importance of diversity in the NZ entrepreneurial community and why our Tech community benefits from inclusiveness. Come help us celebrate these budding entrepreneurs, teachers, mentors and parents who all contributed to a successful albeit challenging year for the NZ Technovation teams.
