Stewart Sherriff

Previous CEO

Stewart retired as CEO of New Zealand Mobile Challenger 2degrees in June 2019 having previously served as the company's Chairman from 2009 to 2013.

He was appointed to the 2degrees Board of Directors of 2degrees on the 1st of July 2019. Born in Scotland Stewart began his career in telecommunications with British Telecom in 1975 as a trainee technician apprentice. He left the UK to pursue an international career in 1984. Stewart held a number of technical roles in various countries and entered a senior management role with SmarTone in Hong Kong as Head of Operations in 1995. In 1997 he joined mobile pioneer Western Wireless International and was instrumental in rolling out Cellular Networks in 11 countries, including a 2-year stint as CEO of Meteor, Ireland's third entrant mobile operator. After the sale of Western Wireless International Stewart joined Trilogy International Partners in 2005 as CTO where he oversaw operations in Bolivia, Haiti, Dominican Republic and New Zealand. Prior to Chairing 2degrees, Stewart Chaired Vega Slovenia, was Vice Chairman of telering Austria and served on a number of Boards in various countries including Vipnet Croatia and jNetx Russia.
