Based in Hamburg, Alison oversees NZTE's offices and relationships
across Europe. Prior to this role, she was customer director for NZTE's
Foundation team.
Her prior experience includes working for the commercial team at New Zealand
Cricket, where she developed the HRV Cup and rejuvenated the Plunket Shield
competition. She has also held marketing and sales roles with Unilever in
the United Kingdom and Viet Nam, where she worked on internationally
recognised brands such as Persil, Omo, Comfort and Cif. She has a degree in
natural sciences from St Catharine's College in the United Kingdom.
Dave is based in Wellington, where he (remotely) continues to head up
marketing for the Dutch based "tech-meets-bike" scale-up VanMoof.
The mission at VanMoof is to get the next billion on bikes. Everything is
done in-house from design to operations, creative campaigns to retail (all
bikes are sold direct, with 80% sold online). Since he joined five years
ago,VanMoof has scaled from roughly 20 employees globally to over 300 on the
back of rapid growth driven by a surge in demand for it's
e-bikes.
Dave formerly worked as global brand director for Sol Beer, based in
Heineken's Amsterdam HQ. In New Zealand, he worked as a marketing
manager at DB Breweries, where he turned around the struggling DB Export
brand, and prior to that he worked as a marketeer at Westpac Bank. Outside
of work hours, Dave takes great satisfaction serving as an advisor to Abel
Odor, a natural perfume startup founded by his wife Frances – which is
rapidly expanding to all corners of the globe.
Born and bred in New Zealand, Dave has a depth of experience scaling brands
and businesses from startup to mega-corporate. Having held leadership roles
in New Zealand and Europe, he knows what it takes to really make a brand
stick, and what it takes to grow a brand globally (as well as all the
mistakes to avoid!).
