Across the last 4 decades he co-founded and led Claris, was CEO of Lucas Arts Entertainment, CEO of Crystal Dynamics before moving on to be General Partner in Kleiner Perkins. He has written a number of best-selling business books including "The Monk and the Riddle" and "Straight Talk for Start-ups". In this episode Randy will talk about the Good, Bad and Ugly of the Silicon Valley tech scene and share his advice on which parts we should take inspiration from in New Zealand vs which parts we should avoid.

Movac is New Zealand's most experienced venture capital company having invested in iconic Kiwi companies such as TradeMe, Aroa, PowerbyProxi and Vend. Now raising Fund 5 to provide Kiwi entrepreneurs a funding path from Pre-A to Series C (and all the tough bits in-between). Phil McCaw is the Founder Partner of Movac and has been managing its course across its 20 year history from the early investment in Trademe to the launch of the soon-to-be-launched Fund 5.
